Compassion – “a deep awareness of and sympathy for another’s suffering.”
Sympathy for another’s suffering … how about your own suffering? Are you compassionate with yourself?
Take a moment and reflect on if there’s somewhere you could be more compassionate with yourself.
I invite you to affirm with me “I have compassion for myself and others” and start noticing where that isn’t the case. It’s sometimes easier to notice the situations or people who you aren’t feeling much compassion for. It shows up as judgement, like they did something wrong, or got what they deserved. That’s your flag. That’s your signal to reflect back to where you’re judging yourself harshly and feel like you got what you deserve.
Don’t beat yourself up. Just notice, inquire and bring awareness to those areas you aren’t as forgiving to yourself.
Have a compassionate, wonderful day!
