Over the last few years, I’ve had the opportunity to really explore what it means for me to walk my talk. For instance, at the beginning of my breast cancer journey, I quickly found that it was much easier helping others and encouraging them to be kind to themselves, feel and be with their emotions, than to actually do it myself. It was very enlightening experience and took ‘loving myself fully’ to a whole new level that I am very grateful for.
And this past year in my coaching business I realized I wasn’t feeling fulfilled because I wasn’t reaching enough people and using my skills. So, if I was going to walk my talk, that meant living and breathing the Passion Test principles of Intention (get clear about what I want), Attention (think about it and take action), No Tension (let it go and be open to how it shows up). I decided to start applying for jobs. And not just any jobs. I got really clear about what I wanted to do, how I would feel when I was doing what I loved and how far I wanted to drive to get there.
Well, I’m happy to report, I’ve manifested an awesome job! Today is my second week on the job. I am the new Human Resource Manager for Taboo Muskoka which is an incredible golf resort just a 15 min drive from my house on Lake Muskoka. I know I’m only a week in, but it feels so right. I’m excited about being part of a team again, contributing, being creative, helping people enjoy what they do and have fun while I’m at it!
So what does walking your talk look like right now for you? I invite you to join me in affirming “I walk my talk” and see what comes up. It’s never to late to listen to yourself!
