Do you love yourself just the way you are? Would you ask yourself for your hand in marriage? You’re what you’ve got for the rest of your life … in sickness and health … till death do us part. Why not love ourselves fully and completely? And the answer….because sometimes we just don’t.
For whatever reason we think we need to be perfect. OK, maybe not perfect, but close to it. Someone is coming to visit, the house needs to be clean. Heading into a meeting, need to know all the answers. At yoga class, need to be as bendy as everyone else. Can you relate?
What if we could accept ourselves as we are? Today when someone visits the house it isn’t clean and that’s OK. Today, when I walk into the meeting it’s OK to not know all the answers. Today, in yoga class it’s OK that I can’t bend as far as everyone else, or even as far as I could yesterday. How about we just let it be OK. Just for today.
I invite you to affirm with me “I love who I am just as I am” and let’s take notice when we’re not. And just for today (unless of course you’d like it to slip over into tomorrow and the next day) let’s accept ourselves just as we are.
Have a ‘perfect just as you are’ day!
