Do you listen to your inner voice or second guess it? For the longest time I didn’t know how to recognize it. It was that voice that told me to check the stove before I left the house and when I did, and found the stove wasn’t on, I questioned it. I told myself I was silly for listening.
What I learned is that even though the stove was off, it was slowing me down for a reason. Maybe by leaving just the few seconds later I was saving myself from being in an accident.
I started small. I started with those nudges to check the stove, grab a bottle of water, turn the right way down a street when I’m unsure where I’m going. Starting small, and listening to those little nudges, made it easier to notice the big ones and trust my gut.
Today, I invite you to join me in affirming “I listen to my inner voice and my whole world changes” and start small. Trust what that voice is saying when it doesn’t seem significant, and you’ll be ready to listen in those times it does.
Have a wonderfully, mindful day!
